(Ali-Imran) 3 : 165

Whenever a disaster-affected you, you are saying: “How this happened?”, surely you have afflicted them double of it; you say: “This is from yourselves, indeed Lord Allah is capable upon everything”.

After the Battle of Uhud, the hypocrites among the Messenger’s followers doubted that why they are defeated. Thus, the Three-Time-Knower Lord is revealing the status of the chest of the hypocrites. It is told in verse 4: 78: “Whenever any goodness happens to the hypocrites, they say: ‘This is from Lord’, and whenever any bad happens to them, they say: ‘This is from the Messenger’. Messenger should say: ‘Everything is from Lord, then what happened to these people that they can’t grasp the Lord’s Speech’”. And it is told in verse 4: 79: “Any good happening to you is from Lord Allah, while any bad happening to you is from yourself”. It is told in verse 41: 50: “If Lord lets the hypocrite taste Mercy from Him after adversity had affected him, he will surely say: "This is for me, and I don’t think the Last Hour will occur. And if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed there will be with Him the best for me’. But Lord will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and He will surely make them taste a great punishment”. Whoever forgot Adhikr, he did forget Lord and is entrapped by Satan. See explanation 2: 152; 3: 140, and 152.
